communication management platform for pharmaceutical district managers
note: these work samples are under NDA - please maintain confidentiality.
the project was pitched by our team in response to a client pain point. our client is a pharmaceutical company that has hundreds of pharmaceutical sales representatives across the United States. when there is turnover and vacancy among the representatives, the health care providers who are accustomed to getting serviced don't have access to a those services - and there is currently no automated way to communicate to the health care providers the vacancy status for their area.
the application our team proposed was meant for pharmaceutical district managers to track vacant territories and to automate the communications that would go out to the health care providers in that area. our team designed a native iPad application that could run on the Veeva platform.
understanding the district manager and the context in which he works in was key to the design. one district manager may oversee dozens of territories for multiple medications. he is busy and will not have the time to review each individual vacancy. instead, my recommendation was for the app to assume opt-in for the communications program, and to provide the manager with intuitive filtering and search for health care providers to explicitly opt them out. i identified the key goal for the application and designed the simplest user flow to achieve the goal.
